چکیده

The relation between the γ-ray and the emission line luminosities for a sample of 36 γ-ray loud blazars is investigated; an apparent correlation between them, Lγ ∝ L 0.69±0.11 Line , with a correlation coefficient r = 0.741 and a chance probability of p = 1.9× 10, is found. It is found, however, that there is no intrinsic correlation between them: the apparent correlation is due to the redshift dependence in a flux-limited sample. Thus no evidence is found to support the argument that the up-scattered soft photons are from the broad emission lines. Our analysis does not conflict with the SSC model. The disk-jet symbiosis and radio/γ-ray correlation found in the literature are also discussed. The radio/γ-ray correlation may be an apparent correlation caused by the boosting effect since both bands are strongly beamed.

Basic properties of Gamma-ray loud blazars

In this paper, a method is proposed to determine the basic properties of γ-ray loud blazars, among them the central black hole mass, M , the Doppler factor, δ, the propagation angle of the γ-rays with respect to the symmetric axis of a twotemperature accretion disk, Φ, and the distance (i.e. the height above the accretion disk), d at which the γ-rays are created, for seven γ-ray loud blazars wi...

The basic parameters of γ-ray-loud blazars

We determined the basic parameters, such as the central black hole mass (M), the boosting factor (or Doppler factor) (δ), the propagation angle (Φ) and the distance along the axis to the site of γ-ray production (d) for 23 γ-ray-loud blazars using their available variability timescales. In this method, the absorption effect depends on the γ-ray energy, emission size and property of the accretio...

discovery of gamma - ray emission from a relativistic jet in the narrow - line Seyfert 1 quasar

We report the discovery by the Large Area Telescope (LAT) onboard the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope of high-energy gamma-ray emission from the peculiar quasar PMN J0948+0022 (z = 0.585± 0.001). Contrary to the expectations, the optical spectrum of this quasar shows only narrow lines [FWHM(Hβ) ∼ 1500 km/s] and the typical characteristics of narrow-line Seyfert 1 type galaxies. However, the str...

Agn Models: High-energy Emission

Astrophysical models for the high-energy emission of blazars are reviewed. Blazars ejecting relativistic radio jets at small angles to the line-of-sight are the only type of active galactic nuclei (AGN) discovered above 100 MeV. The γ-rays apparently originate in the jets which explains the absence of γ-ray pair creation attenuation. The bulk Lorentz factor of the radio jets is much smaller tha...

Tev Gamma - Ray Sources ?

In this paper, we identify Cen A and M87, two nearby Fanaroff-Riley I (FRI) radio galaxies, with high-energy-peaked BL Lac-like (HBL-like) objects by investigating their spectral energy distributions (SEDs). The SED peak of Cen A at ∼150 keV, which was generally believed to be the peak of inverseCompton emission as in the case of 3C 273, is found to be actually the peak of synchrotron emission....
